Get Clear on Your Year with Our Free Yearly Review & Planning Worksheet

While a little bit of luck is always essential to success, no big goals are achieved without planning, preparation, and a willingness to get to know ourselves and what we really want, and breaking down how to get there.

Every December, we sit down to take a hard look at the year we're closing the book on - the good, the bad, the unplanned. How we felt, what we want more of, and what we're ready to shed.

We've shared a small portion of this process in the beginning pages of the 2022 No Limits Planner, but there's always room for more reflection and introspection. We're all about self care, and we personally believe there's no better self care than taking the time to get to know your true self, what you really want, and working toward it with conviction. So grab a cup of coffee or tea, your favorite pen, and get to know yourself a bit better.

Our Yearly Review and Planning Worksheet will help you reflect on the last 12 months, look ahead to the next 12, and really get clear on what it is that you really want out of your one wild and precious life. Creating actionable goals and plans based on how you want to feel every day, and how you want to spend your time is the key to building a life aligned with the real you.

Getting into that place of alignment requires commitment: setting aside the time regularly to sit with yourself, and examine how you really feel about your life, without any pressures from society or your friends and family about what your life should look like.

Here are some of our favorite questions for getting to the heart of what's important to us. Try to answer these questions truly from your point of view, and not from what you think you're supposed to be interested in or should want to have in your life. How would you answer these questions if there were no limits to what you could achieve or how you could structure your life?

Questions to ask yourself at the end of the year

  • What am I most proud of?
  • How did I bring more happiness and fulfillment into my days?
  • What surprised me most this year? What went as planned?
  • What lessons will I take into the coming year?
  • What do I wish I had known at the beginning of the year?
  • How did I care for myself and my relationships this year?

Questions to ask yourself for the new year

  • How do I want to feel? How will I make that happen?
  • What do I want to accomplish? Why?
  • What do I want to add to my life this year?
  • What am I ready to let go of?
  • Is there a central theme that can guide me through this year?

We've included all of these questions and a few more in our yearly planning worksheet, continuing into the 2022 plannerThese questions are designed to help you get in touch with how you feel about life, and identify goals you're inspired to work toward every month.

Don't be afraid to take a break from these questions to give things time to simmer and come to the surface. At first, questions like this can feel open-ended and overwhelming, but given time and attention, your priorities become obvious.

This worksheet is the perfect partner to our 2022 planner, and it’s not too late to get yours! Our planner helps you get clear on what's most important to you, set goals and break them down, and monitor your progress. We'll help you throughout the year with monthly worksheets that complement that month's journal prompt, but it's up to you to do the work each month to make your dreams a reality.

Once you've finished the worksheet, take a moment to celebrate. You just took the first steps toward making this year a success, on YOUR terms, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve. Happy new year!
